4k has 4x the resolution of the currently most common Full HD resolution. Most filmers don´t like that resolution, because it takes quite some computer power and time while editing. But being photographers, we just LOVE image quality. Nothing is more rewarding (well except your feedback ;)), than watching the final video on a 4k monitor or TV.
Your big advantage: you won´t be disappointed when you watch the video 20 years from now on a big high-resolution flat screen. If you ever watched an old video on a big screen, you sure know what we are talking about.
